How Hard is Hard?

We divide our puzzles into different difficulty levels, not depending on the number of empty cells, but rather the difficulty of the techniques required to solve the puzzle. This way we avoid the common problem of incorrectly labeling a puzzle with many empty cells as hard, although it does not require any difficult techniques to be solved.

All our Easy puzzles, can be solved using exclusively the Lonely Loner and Swinging Single techniques. These can also be practiced by clicking on the Basic button. The Medium puzzles require the additional use of at least one (possibly both) of the Kolumn Killer and Boxing Box techniques. These and the use of at least one (possibly both) of the Cozy Couple and Partying Pair techniques solve the Hard puzzles, whereas the Extra Hard require the knowledge of how to use the Gathering Gang, Groovy Group, X-wing and Swordfish techniques as well.
